Internationally Recognized Physician from India Joins Herbalife's Nutrition Advisory Board

Herbalife Ltd. has expanded its Nutrition Advisory Board (NAB) with the addition of Anoop Misra, M.D. of India, an internationally recognized specialist on diabetes and metabolic disease. Anoop Misra was awarded Padma Shri (one of the highest national honors) by the President of India.

The Herbalife NAB is comprised of leading experts around the world in the fields of nutrition, diet and health who educate and train Herbalife independent distributors on the principles of nutrition, physical activity and a healthy lifestyle. The board is chaired by David Heber, M.D., Ph.D., director of the Center for Human Nutrition at the
University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

Misra is director and head of the diabetes and metabolic diseases department and a senior consultant in internal medicine at Fortis Group of Hospitals, New Delhi. He is a former professor of medicine and diabetologist at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, where he received his medical degree. Misra has also been
on the faculty of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Royal London Medical School in the U.K.

He has been published in more than 150 scientific papers in international journals; received multiple awards including the highest award for medical science in India, the Dr. B. C. Roy Award; and has served as the personal physician of two Prime Ministers of India. He is a reviewer for several prestigious international journals including "The Lancet" and "Circulation."

In addition to his work, Misra is very active in community outreach programs that bring health and nutrition education and awareness to disadvantaged children and women in urban slums, and to school children.

Herbalife’s 61st Country!

Herbalife has successfully entered Malaysia as its 61st country worldwide. The Official Opening Ceremony of Herbalife Malaysia was officiated by the Minister of Human Resources, Datuk Seri Dr Fong Chan Onn. We were honoured to have 3 Chairman’s Club Members, over 30 President’s Team Members and 175 Malaysia Pioneer’s Club Members along with Herbalife’s Top Executives leaded by Greg Probert, President & COO on 18th & 19th February, 2006, in Kuala Lumpur.

“Malaysia is currently producing about 60,000 graduates a year as the labour force is growing at a rate of 3.2 per cent per annum from a population of 26 million nationwide” according to the Human Resources Minister. He further mentioned that “more opportunities were needed to supplement the growing number of graduates in this country.”

Herbalife Family Foundation (HFF) has established its first Casa Herbalife in Malaysia at Rumah Bakti Hulu Kelang (RBHK) under the Pertubuhan Pendidikan Anak-Anak Yatim Selangor (PPAYS), a charitable organization started by the Selangor state government officials.

Through the Casa Herbalife program, which began in 2005, HFF provides funds to existing organizations serving children to help improve nutrition-related functions such as upgrading kitchens, appliances or the ability to provide healthier foods. The Casa Herbalife donation will enable RBHK to improve kitchen facilities and appliances for the 100 children who currently live there.

HFF President Greg Probert presented the donation to Y.Bhg. Dato' Seri Haji Harun bin Idris, founder of RBHK and former Selangor State Minister. Joining the ceremony were Y.Bhg. Dato' Ronie Tan, Herbalife's newly-appointed vice president and managing director of Malaysia; John Purdy, senior vice president, Asia Pacific; and Des Walsh, senior vice president worldwide distributor sales. Probert also serves as president and chief operating officer of Herbalife Ltd.

Herbalife Ltd. (NYSE:HLF) today announced the opening of business in Malaysia, now the 61st country where Herbalife products are sold through the company's network of independent distributors. Dato' Ronie Tan has been named managing director and vice president of Herbalife in Malaysia and brings over 16 years of direct selling business to Herbalife. The company's head office will be located in Kuala Lumpur.

Herbalife was established in California in 1980 and began doing business in the Asia Pacific region in 1983 in Australia. Today, it is present in ten other countries across this region, in addition to conducting business in Japan, China, the Americas and Europe, Middle East and Africa.

"There is much opportunity for Malaysians to build their own business in this industry, whether on a part time or full time basis," said Greg Probert, president and chief operating officer. "Our products have universal appeal due to the need for improved nutrition around the world."
