Herbal Life Vitamins

Herbalife Ltd. announces its sponsorship of the 16th edition of the Trofeu Brasil de Triathlon, South America's largest triathlon circuit. In a separate agreement, Herbalife signed sponsorship deals with three professional Brazilian triathletes.

The championship, which is comprised of seven phases that take place in four Brazilian cities, will kick off on March 19, 2006 in Santos. Each race has approximately 900 participants, who come from Brazil's 27 states and from various South American countries.

The Brazilian Triathlon Trophy ("Trofeu Brasil") is a competition in which athletes accumulate points during its seven phases and the winners are announced at the end of the competition.

The event's seven phases are as follows:

-- 1st Phase - March 19, Santos, at Praia do Gonzaga

-- 2nd Phase - April 23, Sao Paulo, at University of Sao Paulo (USP)

-- 3rd Phase - June 11, Goiania, at Alphaville

-- 4th Phase - August 20, Belo Horizonte, at Nova Lima

-- 5th Phase - September 24, Santos, at Praia do Gonzaga

-- 6th Phase - October 22, Santos, at Praia do Gonzaga

-- 7th Phase - December 3, Santos, at Praia do Gonzaga

The event is divided into two main categories, professionals and amateurs. Amateurs are split by age group, handicap status and relay teams. The professional category requires qualification and athletes race in Olympic distances: 1500m swimming, 40K biking and 10k running. Amateurs do sprint distances: 750m swimming, 20K biking and 5K running.

This event represents Herbalife's first major sponsorship deal in South America.

In addition to sponsoring this event, Herbalife also signed sponsorship deals with three Brazilian triathletes:

Guto Antunes, 27, an Olympic distance athlete who has been competing since 1999. In 2005, he was in the Top 10 of the Pro category of Trofeu Brasil Championship. This year, in addition to Trofeu Brasil, he will compete in a World Cup ITU race in Brasilia and Malibu Triathlon.

Luis Felipe Granato, 22, professional triathlete and business administration student, who has been competing since 1999. He placed second in the 2005 Trofeu Brasil Triathlon Circuit - Elite age group category, and is one of the youngest athletes of the pro category. This year he will also compete in the World Triathlon Championship ITU in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Fabio Carvalho, 26, professional triathlete and hotel administration student. He placed third in the 2004 and 2005 Trofeu Brasil Triathlon Circuit - pro category and second in the 2006 International Triathlon of Santos. In 2006, in addition to Trofeu Brasil, he will compete in the Los Angeles Triathlon.

Herbalife employees, independent distributors, friends, and families will be taking part as "Team Herbalife," either individually or on relay teams.

Herbalife is also the official nutrition sponsor of the London Michelob ULTRA Triathlon, Nautica Malibu Triathlon, Laguna Phuket Triathlon and participated in Trofeu Brasil de Triathlon in 2005. The company also sponsors UK-based triathlete Olly Freeman and U.S. triathlete Erika Aklufi. Other major sponsorships include the AVP Pro Volleyball Tournament, LA Galaxy, Toray Pan Pacific Open Tennis Tournament and the Tour of California, among others.
