Herbalife Ltd. announces a series of sponsorships in France, including main sponsorship of the Gerardmer triathlon, associate sponsor of the Ironman France, and official partner of the two-day Strasbourg Europe Races.
Herbalife is already nutrition partner of the French Ski School at Val d'Isere for the four-month 2005/6 season.
In total, the sponsorship deals will enable the company to take the brand to an audience of more than 50,000 athletes and sportsmen and several million spectators at the events and via media and broadcast coverage.
The Gerardmer Triathlon takes place September 7th - 10th and is the only European qualifying leg for the Wildflower and the Escape from Alcatraz World triathlons in California. Herbalife is one of four main sponsors and Herbalife independent distributors and employees will be taking part both individually and in teams, representing Team Herbalife.
At the Ironman France in Nice, Herbalife will be the official partner of the Expo Village which attracts thousands of spectators throughout the five-day event in June, culminating in the Ironman Race on June 25th.
The Strasbourg-Europe Races were established four years ago and take participants through both Strasbourg and Kehl, in Germany in a variety of races over the weekend of May 13th - 14th, including a half marathon, a 5K and a 10K run. Within the 10K run is the "Herbalife Challenge" to recognize the top ten female runners. This year the event is expected to attract more than 7,500 runners.
Herbalife is also the official nutrition sponsor of the London Michelob ULTRA Triathlon, Nautica Malibu Triathlon, Laguna Phuket Triathlon and participated in Trofeu Brasil de Triathlon in 2005. The company also sponsors UK-based triathlete Olly Freeman and U.S. triathlete Erika Aklufi. Other major sponsorships include the AVP Pro Volleyball Tournament, LA Galaxy, Toray Pan Pacific Open Tennis Tournament and the Tour of California, among others.
