Herbalife Sponsors Series of Events in California; Company Signs Two Los Angeles Galaxy Players
Herbalife Ltd. (NYSE:HLF) announced a series of new sponsorships in southern and northern California. The company's sponsorship strategy is to enhance the Herbalife brand image by associating with health and fitness and sports-related activities and provide a forum for local independent distributors and consumers to talk face-to-face and sample the company's unique products, including its new patented energy drink, Liftoff(TM).
Los Angeles Galaxy soccer players Herculez Gomez and Chris Albright have been signed by Herbalife for distributor promotions and other brand-building activities. The company is also the presenting sponsor of the LA Galaxy and will continue a strong presence with stadium signage and sampling booth at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.
Additionally, Herbalife has signed on as a sponsor of the following events:
- Conquer the Canyons is a two-day, three-stage cycling event April 22nd-23rd in Agoura Hills, Calif. The first-time event will be comprised of three stages: a time trial, circuit race and road race. Herbalife CEO Michael O. Johnson, sponsored triathlete Erika Aklufi, and cycling champion and Herbalife independent distributor Rich Meeker will be among the racers. Herbalife is the presenting sponsor of the event.
- Coachella Music Festival in Indio, Calif., is a one-of-a-kind music festival with artists such as Madonna, Depeche Mode and Marley. The concert takes place April 28th-29th. Herbalife independent distributors will sample multiple products to concert goers.
- San Francisco is home of the ING Bay to Breakers May 19th-21st, a unique foot race, attracting over 65,000 participants and 100,000 spectators. Thousands of costumed participants, serious racers and weekend athletes partake in this annual event. As official partner and official nutrition company of the event, Herbalife will have a sampling booth for consumers.
