Herbalife Ltd., a global nutrition direct selling company, has expanded its Nutrition Advisory Board (NAB) with the addition of sports medicine specialist Chakarg Pongurgsorn, M.D., Ph.D., of Thailand.

The NAB is comprised of leading experts around the world in the fields of nutrition and health who educate and train Herbalife independent distributors on the principles of nutrition, physical activity and healthy lifestyle. The board is chaired by David Heber, M.D., Ph.D., director of the Center for Human Nutrition at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

Pongurgsorn is deputy director of research of the College of Sports Science and Technology at Thailand's Mahidol University. He also serves as a clinical instructor in the rehabilitation medicine department at Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University.

In addition to his teaching duties, Pongurgsorn is a member of the advisory board of the Physical Activity Promotion Committee of Thailand's Ministry of Health, medical consultant to the Thai National Rhythmic Gymnastic Team, and a consulting physician at Bumrungraj Hospital's wellness center. He has also served as his country's team doctor in multiple Special Olympics, female national volleyball, and other sporting events.

Pongurgsorn holds a doctor of philosophy and master's degree in kinesiology from University of Illinois at Champagne-Urbana and earned board certified rehabilitation medicine training from Siriraj Hospital after his doctor of medicine from University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center, Philippines.

Herbalife Adds UK Sports Specialist Ralph Rogers, M.D., Ph.D. to Medical Advisory Board

Herbalife has expanded its Medical Advisory Board with the addition of Ralph Rogers, M.D., Ph.D., a specialist in sports, musculoskeletal medicine and exercise physiology, based in Birmingham, UK, where he is also a research fellow of Wolverhampton University.

Ralph is a private practitioner specializing in sports medicine, rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries, human performance, corporate wellness and occupational medicine. He has lectured and tutored for the British Association of Sports and Exercise Medicine (BASEM) and is a former chairman of BASEM (West Midlands), and consults with various companies dealing in sports medicine and human performance in both the U.S. and Europe.

Additionally, Ralph is currently medical advisor to: The Trinidad and Tobago World Cup Football Team, Club doctor for the Walsall Football Club, West Midlands England, Sports physician for the Warwickshire County Cricket Club in Birmingham, UK.

Ralph has been awarded numerous fellowships and has published extensively in his areas of expertise. He earned a Diploma in Sports Medicine from The Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, UK; PH.D., in exercise physiology from University of Maryland, U.S.; M.D. in medicine, surgery and obstetrics and bachelor of science degree.

Herbalife Sponsors Series of Events in California; Company Signs Two Los Angeles Galaxy Players
Herbalife Ltd. (NYSE:HLF) announced a series of new sponsorships in southern and northern California. The company's sponsorship strategy is to enhance the Herbalife brand image by associating with health and fitness and sports-related activities and provide a forum for local independent distributors and consumers to talk face-to-face and sample the company's unique products, including its new patented energy drink, Liftoff(TM).

Los Angeles Galaxy soccer players Herculez Gomez and Chris Albright have been signed by Herbalife for distributor promotions and other brand-building activities. The company is also the presenting sponsor of the LA Galaxy and will continue a strong presence with stadium signage and sampling booth at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.

Herbalife Sponsors Poland's Premier Marathon Event Herbalife Ltd. announced its sponsorship of the Warszawski Festiwal Biegowy (Warsaw Run Festival), which includes Poland's largest marathon event as its center piece. The three day sporting event, which also comprises a marathon relay, a fun run and expo, is held September 15-17, 2006.

Originally open only to professional athletes when it was founded at the beginning of the 20th century, the Warsaw Marathon now attracts a wide range of participants from all walks of life. Last year attracted a record field of more than 2,000 runners from 30 countries and five continents and several thousand more spectators.

As official sponsor, Herbalife joins a significant range of dynamic brand names including marathon title sponsor Flora. As part of the three year sponsorship deal which runs through 2008, the traditional fun run will be renamed the "Herbalife Fun Run."

Dozens of Herbalife staff and independent distributors will take part in the event as part of Team Herbalife. Last year the company was awarded the title of "Running Friendly Company" for having the largest number of participants in the event.

Herbalife Ltd. announced the signing of volleyball professional Sean Scott to its roster of sponsored volleyball athletes.

Former Olympic bronze medallist Elaine Youngs and her partner Rachel Wacholder are also sponsored by Herbalife. The players will be featured in various promotions for Herbalife and its Liftoff(TM) brand, which is the Official Energy Drink of the AVP Volleyball Tour through 2007.

Scott, 32, considers himself one of the shorter players at 6 feet 5 inches. He began playing volleyball at 15 and continued to play while attending the University of Hawaii. A native of Kailua, Hawaii, Scott was awarded the AVP Most Improved Player 2005. He won his first Tour title in 2004 at the Tempe Open with partner Todd Rogers. The duo also won the "Best of the Beach" in Honolulu in 2005.

Herbalife continues its multi-year sponsorship as nutritional advisor of the AVP Tour which kicks off March 31st in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., followed by tournaments in Tempe, Ariz., several locations in Calif., Brooklyn, N.Y., Boulder, Colo., Las Vegas, Nev., and Lake Tahoe, Nev. The AVP Tour is a national touring series that features more than 150 of the nation's top male and female professional beach volleyball players. Herbalife will have a presence at all Tour events with guaranteed rotational signage and static center court banners. Herbalife will also receive commercial units during AVP broadcasts on NBC and Fox Sports Net. Additionally, Herbalife independent distributors will sample several of the company's brands at all events.
