Herbalife Family Foundation Establishes First Casa Herbalife Program in Malaysia

| | Comments (0)

Herbalife Family Foundation (HFF) has established its first Casa Herbalife in Malaysia at Rumah Bakti Hulu Kelang (RBHK) under the Pertubuhan Pendidikan Anak-Anak Yatim Selangor (PPAYS), a charitable organization started by the Selangor state government officials.

Through the Casa Herbalife program, which began in 2005, HFF provides funds to existing organizations serving children to help improve nutrition-related functions such as upgrading kitchens, appliances or the ability to provide healthier foods. The Casa Herbalife donation will enable RBHK to improve kitchen facilities and appliances for the 100 children who currently live there.

HFF President Greg Probert presented the donation to Y.Bhg. Dato' Seri Haji Harun bin Idris, founder of RBHK and former Selangor State Minister. Joining the ceremony were Y.Bhg. Dato' Ronie Tan, Herbalife's newly-appointed vice president and managing director of Malaysia; John Purdy, senior vice president, Asia Pacific; and Des Walsh, senior vice president worldwide distributor sales. Probert also serves as president and chief operating officer of Herbalife Ltd.

The Casa Herbalife program is named after an orphanage HFF built in Brazil in 1998. In total, there are currently nine Casa Herbalife programs established around the world. Others include A Place Called Home in South Central Los Angeles, California; Atlanta Children's Shelter in Georgia; Associacao Casa Da Crianca De Santos in Brazil; Aga Children's Home in Budapest, Hungary; Singapore Children's Society; Kobe Jitsygyo Gakuin (KJG) in Kobe, Japan; and Corporacion NAIM in Chile.

HFF is a non-profit organization supported by Herbalife International, Inc. and its independent distributors and employees to help children at risk around the world. Since its inception in 1994, HFF has donated over $6.5 million in over 25 countries around the world to support children in need, as well as assist victims of disasters.

The Herbalife Family Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. More information can be found at www.herbalifefamily.org.
